First REAL Hiphop party

I've been to some so called hiphop parties, as i blogged beofre, organized in my town, but the one i've been at last night was something i never thought it will happen. A guaranteed show, with the local bands and with rap battles. (OK, so the bands aren't really good, in fac they are kinda bad, but still, with a little beer and vodka on board you wouldn't even had noticed that :))
Congratulations to my man mOW who won the first round of the battle againt Shaolin, making a fool out of him, i can't even remember when i last had so much fun!

Looking forward to a repeat!

Yeah, it sometimes happens.. if i forget to update the blog when it should be done, i remain without inspiration.. or i have to post old news.
Anyway, since my last input was about the allstar game i just want to express my joy for lil Nate Robinson who won the Slam Dunk contest with a jump OVER 5'6 Spud Webb (the 1986 contest winner). It was fun to watch the show, Nate had some crazy dunks and even though he needed 14 tries to make his last dunhk, in my oppinion he deserved to win. Thumbs down to Kobe, Iverson, ESPN, Houston and all the haters that kept on bitching over saying that Iguodala was robbed.
Nobody seemed to notice that Iggy had the same dunk last two times (just from different angles), that his best dunk was in the first round and that the new rule says that you can miss as manu times as you want without being penalized.

NBA All Star Weekend

It's been some time since my Knicks represented at the All Star weekend, and even if none of the players made it to the all star game, we have 3 players in 3 competitions:

Channing Frye and Nate Robinson were selected to play in the rookie challenge (the rookie vs sopshomore game).
Quentin Richardson will defend his title as the best 3 point shooter.
Nate Robinson again will try to win the slam dunk contest as the smallest player in the all star week-end.

The Rookie vs Sophomore was already played (picture) but unfortunatelly i can't find a box score to see exactly how my 2 players did, i just know that Nate scored 13 points, and Channing had 9 points and 6 rebounds. They both represented the Knicks great so far!
I can't wait for someone to posta torrent so i can download the game.
Tonight's the big show. Q and N8 for the Knicks again! I am so excited!

Trip to Bucharest - Wu Tang Killa Beez show

I told you a few entries beofore i had tickets to the Wu Tang Killa Beez concert in Bucharest. All i can say is that it was by far THE BEST CONCERT I'VE EVER ATTENDED TO. Last september i was at the Kid Koala concert and that was amazing too, but you cannot compare it to this one.

We left Targu Mures on February 15th at 7 am and we arrived at Sighisoara with cars one hour later. From there the took the Inter City, it was such a blast on the train, we kept on telling jokes and started imagining how will the concert be like, did some pics.. i was really impressed by the beautiful sights of our country.. take a look at these pics with the mountains near Brasov.

The first oine is took in the train station at Sinaia i think.. the snow was beautifull i couldn't resist not to imortalize the image.
The next two images are taken shortly after, amazed by the clouds or fog that was on the mountain peaks

Ok, finally we arrived in Bucharest at 1.30 PM. We met Spooke who we've hanged with untill about 3 pm when me Paula and Sauce went to visit the Romanian Museum of History. It wasn't as i've thought it would be, there were basically just 2 major objectives: Traian's column and the Romanian Treasure (tons of gold from the oldest times).. well.. what could been recovered from the Russians.

At 17.30 we went to meet with the Hades Records crew & friends. The purpose of the meeting was to go all of us organized to the place where the concert was supposed to be. That meant switching the subway 2 times. Imagine a group of about 200 rappers waiting to get in the train.. you don't wanna know how frighten the people in the train were when they saw us :))
I goit to meet with some friend on some forums i'm into, some rappers in the industry, it was all OK./
The show started at about 8pm i think and it was hosted by Nai'gh'ba of Da Hood. The first performance came from Turntable Science (DJ Dox, DJ Paul, DJ Undoo, DJ FaiboX) who entertained the crowd for about 30 minutes. After that, it was time for the most well known band in Romania to continue. Parazitii rocked the mic for another hour, and at one time they had this great ODD which left everyone with their mouths open.
Everybody expected to see Salah Edin next (who was supposed to sing in the oppening of the Killa Beez) but instead, the Wu entered the stage and they sang few songs, then Salah entered and sang his part, it was aaaaal craaazy, nobody was expecting for such an amazing show.
The concert was over at 11.15 pm and it was time for me to go buy my Shabazz the Disciple CD. Shabazz was very cool, and he signed it for me.

The only thing i now regret is that we should have made it to the after party too, but we lost contact with our middle-man. Anyway, i was pretty tired so we went to my man to take a few hours of sleep, but the next day at 8 am we were up.
I never miss the chance in Bucharest to take pics near the biggest building in the world after the Pentagon.

Before taking the train to return home, we visited the Military Museum. Now that is something everybody should see if they go across the country. It is something so big and so amazingm, words cannot describe. Weapons from the neolithic and untill today. Scenes from different wars (including WW1 and WW2), King Carol's sword and a special section dedicated the the revolution from December 1989. It's a definitely must see place. In the interior yard there were tanks, TABs, planes and other military automobiles. It took us about 3 hours to see everything.

We finally took the train at 4.50 PM and arrived in Sighisoara at about 9 PM. the road from there to Tg Mures was very difficult because it snowed for 2 days and some accidents happened on the road that day, so it took us more than one hour, but we finnlly got home safe and healthy :)

American Justice

I wanted to post this since last week, but couldn't .. i finally got some free time, hope it's not making the story older, i just want to express my point of view.
First of all i have to say that i have nothing against the american people, i love them, i love their contry, i love their culture, i hate their government.

Ok, so what's up. A year ago there was suposed to be a great rock concert, which was being organized by one of the most loved musicians from Romania, Teo Peter. Just before the concert to start (i think it was a day beofre), while being in a taxi, he was hit by US Marine Staff Sergeant Christopher Van Goethem, who was driving his car, under the influence. As a result, Teo Peter lost his life. RIP

What happens next? Van Goethem is being quickly sent back in the USA in order to be examined in a military preliminary which to decide if a trial should be followed or not. Sounds almost decent, except that he broke a rule in our country, and he should have been trialed here!

Last week the bomb dropped. Christopher Van Goethem was found guilty by false in declaration and the obstruction of justice. Wait a minute, something doesn't sound right. Where's the murder? Apparently major Stackhouse, Cristopher's lawyer invoked the fact that there was no evidence Teo Peter was in the taxi that night. Now i don't know how right or wrong this sounds for you people, but this was one of the most dissapointing cases i've ever heard of.

This is a mokery, not just to the address of Teo Peter's family, but towards our whole country. Let's not forget that Romania has been an ally of the United States for the past years and at the time of the accident, our countruy had 800 military troops deported in Iraq.

Euro 2008 Preliminaries

Today were extracted the groups and the teams that will try to qualify for the Euro 2008 tournament. A total of 7 groups containing 7 national teams each, will try to give their best to make the final tournament.
Romania has missed the past 3 championships (World cup 2002, Euro 2004 and World Cup 2006) because of a number of stupid games, which were all winnable , a coach resignation back in '02 that could have lead us to Korea and Japan, and a referee that stole us the last seconds of the last game in '04.
Another blowup could be a disaster for our football.. the club teams are really trying in uefa cup, we have many values, but we need ca coach that can scout too.
Anyway, here are the teams Romania will face:

Luxemburg:
A team with no pretentions from this competition.. maybe gain some experience. Even if we would play in 8 players, all from the bench we could win both games
Belarus:
Another easy team. Again, 2 wins from this round
Albania:
Everything cool. No worries so far
Slovenia:
This is the team that went to World Cup 2002 from Korea and Japan in our spite. Here is our chance for revenge. We MUST win both games!
Bulgaria:
Bulgaria is a team that could put us in trouble. They are also fighting for the 2ns place, so i expect tough confrontations from the games. Hopefully we'll win at Bucharest and try for a draw at Sofia
Holland:
The favorite for winning this group. We also met them in the preliminaries for World Cup 2006 and we lost both games. A revenge would be sweet, but i'm hoping we don't lose both games, hell, a win at home would be more then perfect.

As we can see, the gorup is not tough, there's Holland who is going to win it 80%, Bulgariaon who we must concentrate, and Slovenia against we have some unfinished business.

Hope i;'m not mistaken, but my oppinion is that Romania will finally be at a final tournament again!

So, after watching Gothica few days ago, a friend of mine recommended me this movie, saying the theme is somehow similar, so i decided to download the film with dc++. Not long time ago it was on tv too, but couldn't stay awake to see it all. Last night i watched it. I was alone in my room. It was past midnight. Should i go on? I wasn't far from shitting my pants :))
Definitely a "must see" if you're into horrors/thrillers or what kind of gender is this one. Nicole Kidman has one of her best acts ever.

NBA Back on National TV

Today i heard the most wonderfull news of the year. Our national tv station (TVR2) will start broadcasting live games from the NBA again :) I'll be able to watch 1 game per week (on friday night) which is still better then whatching re-lives downloaded from torrents sites. The move was expected as last year they started to live games with the all-star game from Denver.
Anyway, the best part is that i'll be able to see 2 live games from Madison Square Garde, home of the Knicks. The first one will be on february 24 against the New Jersey Nets, the other one will be after aweek against the Chicago Bulls. It's hard to express in words what i felt when i read the news. The last Knick game i saw live was back in 2001, from the New York - Toronto round one of the Playoffs. Since then i only saw few highlights and full games from this season.

I saw this movie last night, really impressive one, (i know it's old, and you probably saw it) the type of movie that keeps you on tension untill the very end and after. It has everything a thriller like this should have and in case you haven't seen it, i suggest you go to your video store and rent the dvd (or by the case logon to your favorite hubs and download it :)

Wow, it's been more than 2 weeks since my last thought on this blog. The reason why i didn't posted was i really had no time, and i had no inspiration either..
Just wanted to say that the new year party was great from my point of view. I had a lot of fun, many people, many friends, 2 cigars and enough wine :)
Happy new year to all of you reading this!

What else? Well, the New York Knicks got a wonderfull winning streak of 6 games, something that they didn't had since 2001 and that was another reason for me to cheer. A great game against the Phoenix Suns on January 2nd won after 3 OT!!, Other wins in Cleveland and home against the Sonics, Mavs, Wizards and Hawks. The loss eventually came in Toronto last night.. an awfull one.. :(

My digital camera got broken and i took it to have it fixed, but nothing about it so far.

Oh, i almost forgot. I HAVE TICKETS TO THE WU TANG KILLA BEEZ CONCERT FROM FEBRUARY 15TH, BUCHAREST. Man, i am so happy!! We will be a group of about 6 friends heading to our nation's capital, where we'll meet other dudes from all over the country, so far sounds like the best thing for 2006

My new cellphone

Finally, yesterday i got myself the phone i've been wanting for the past 5 weeks. The nokia 6170. Yeah, i know, it's not the best phone on the market, but it still looks nice. And it has more features than my old nokia 3510i. I got it really cheap, so i'm thinking to sell it in a month or so :)

Carol Singing (DAGM III)

The third and last episode of "December, a great month, is it?" ends with a great topic. Christmas. A holiday with an important religious significance, but which other people seem to forget.
Anyway, i was scheduled to go carol-singing on two nights. On Christmas eve with my friends from college, and on the next night with my freinds from the crew. Both nights were great, but it's been so long since i had so much fun with the first group, i almost forgot it can still happen. None of us got drunk, and even though we started about 15 and on the last home we were only 5, this will remain a night that won't be vanished from my memory that easy.

The other night wasn't that great as the previous one. Maybe because i was so exhausted from the other night? Could be. Maybe because that group wasn't as gelled as our college one? That's another possibility. The night wasn't that long, it ended 2 hours earlier then the one before, and i got home extremely tired, and i think bored a bit.

On the ugly side, my digital camera got broken. I can still take pics but the display has some contact issues. Well, at least it's still in guarantee and i can take it to service.

Rock Christmas

With one day before the Christmaseve, our town had organized a great concert called "Rock Christmas" putting together the most known names from the town and not only. You might be wondering what would a rapper be looking at a rock concert? Well, the truth is that in my honest oppinion, rock and rap are the 2 music types that have a very strong message to the people today, so i have a big repsect for all the guys who are struggleing to come up and show what they can. Altough, this was one of the first parties of type that i have attended to, i have to admit the atmosphere was great, i had a really great time with my friends (all rappers). The best moment was when the band on stage singed Limp Bizkit's "Break Stuff" and everyone started to do the "pogo", a type of dance in which people are jumping one into another, nowadays throwing punches and elbows, but it was very fun. I got an elbow in my chin, and Cube broke his nose :))
Can't wait for more events like this one!

My new Tv Tunner

After selling my old tv tunner for half of price just because a part of the channels were working on PAL and the other part on SEKAM, i waited over a month to get a new one. A friend of mine promissed me a great one, which should have worked perfectly, one of the best, after one month when i got it for tests i realized it was even worse than the one i sold, plus the price was 3x bigger. I nicely refused the price and went to the store to see what can i find. At "Digitek", there was one of the most extraordinary women i've seen. She was about 25-27 years old, can't say about her that she was the most beautifull piece on earth, but she was really nice, blonde hair and she had these amazing breasts.. king size :p i couldn't take my eyes away. So i said, this is where i'm getting the tunner from :)

Indeed, they had some types, at a lower price than the one mt friend recommended, so i made a bargain with the blonde girl. I said i'll take the tunner, pay it but if i won't be able to see all the channels i'll bring it back for a refund, and she agreed. So i took my tool home, put it in the PCI slot and started the installation. I thought i was going crazy when i had troubles with the driver installation, so i went back to the store (to see the blonde again) and to complain about the situation. She said i should come with the PC and let their technician to look over it. And indeed, he solved the problem. Now my tunner works just great, i get all the channels i want PLUS HBO!!! =)) it's great!

...i don't know why i can't stop thinking about that girls' enormous breasts...

Well, it seems like the people who organized it took my joke seriously and they're now after me.. what can i say.. with the holidays coming, that's my last concern. It's snowing finally (DAGM II)

The second part of December, a great month, is it? follows up.

Well, not exactly finally, it snowed few weeks back too, but i said to myself that i'll take some pics from the window now. I wanted to do it the other morning but my digital camera's batteries were low, so i had to wait another day and pray to snow at night. Luckily, it did, but by the time i woke up and took the photo it melted a bit.

My good friend Ramona has dropped by today.. twice.. i expect her to pay me another visit after she finishes the party with the 8th grade. She's teaching english at a school near me.

Also, today (december 16) is my dad's birthday.. he turned 57, happy birthday dad :) Sorry i didn't get you anything.. my budget is kinda low hehe, i'll make it up to you next year. I'm sure your brother and sisters have made it up for you ;)

I am so sick of this parties organized by the most fake people i've ever met.. well if i think a lil' bit, maybe they're not fake, maybe they really enjoy that, but comme on, you pay the entrance, you must also have consumation, for God's sake, at least entertain us with some quality music.. aren't they bored of the same beats.. of the same songs, and the same artists.. let's be real, i've been to more than just one party held by them, and besides 50 cent, lil jon and other fags i couldn't hear anything. Beofore we left, i wrote a message on a blank sheet of paper "DJ Confidential" saying:'This is the worst party ever. You people suck!'

This is how me, my boss and our friend Ovi will going to refer to our favorite striptease club "69". Pretty clever, huh (lol)? We paid a visit to that club last night after a pool at Hotel Grand, where i lost almost all the games. Now one thing i love about that club, is that as soon as you get there and you order (anything) the girls are setting their eyes on you and come for a little chat. of course, their goal is to make you buy them a glass of martini, which of course, if you're smart won't happen. Unless you get it for yourself ;)

I'm sure people heard of it (had they?!) and are already using it (are they?!). It's a great instant messenger tool from Google released few months ago. It's very simple, easy to use, consumes very little memory and i highly recommend it to all of you. I always keep it open, it's on my startup, and as long as my pc is open, and as long as i'm connected to internet (normally i always am, but sometimes my connection is bugging me), i'm online on Google Talk. I like it very much because of its simplicity. It doesn't even has smileys, but when you type one (e.g. :) ) it makes it blue, so you know it's a smiley, lol. It also has the calling center like Yahoo Messenger has, and you can call anyone for free if you have a mic and speakers only it's better.

December, a great month.. is it? (I)

Hello again, it's been a while since i last posted (haha, that's what i said in my last post). Anyway, nothing important happened in my life that had to be mentioned.. or maybe i didn't had enough time to keep my blog update.
I was thinking on a topic that i would bring in discusion, and the best i could come up with is December, the month :). A month that started great, the first day being Romania's national day. This is going to be the first part of the December trilogy.

The one thing i can't understand is how come all our people are so ashamed when it comes to our national day. Many of us probably don't even know what the day of december 1st means, for them is just another reason to party and get drunk, forgeting the lifes that were lost for them to be free now. They're forgetting that there were people who after World War One fought with weapons or with words for our country to keep its territories. This is something that really botheres me and i just hope someday, people will change their mentalities.

I've been downtown and celebrated with the members of the party and then in the evening i went to see the fireworks and listen to our folklore music. It was a fine day, maybe not as i expected to be.. when i got home i felt sorry the day passed so quickly.. i felt there were more things i should have done.

Coelho's Zahir

Paulo Coelho's new book Zahir. I'm currently read it and i can barely take my eyes away. I bought it when i was at the Kid Koala concert in Bucharest as a present for my mom, and getting bored in the train i opend the book and started to read. I recommend it to everyone, it's the story of a famous writer who's wife had dissapeared in a mysterious way, being either kidnapped or she framed her dissapearance , and his journey to find the love of his life. The book also has a lot of nice stories.. anyway, i recommend it to you all, it's a great book, and you won't be dissapointed.

Kid Koala Live

I don't know how many of you beloved readers have ever heard of him, but in case you haven't let me just say this guy is a freakin genius. I've been to the concert on friday night, so i had to travel about 400km by car and train, about 6 hours on road just to get to Bucharest, but it was damn worthed. We (me and HotSauce) arrived in the capital at about 1 pm. Then we met Sabe and went to KFC where we had spicey chiken wings. After we left our luggage at the place we were sitting over night we took a walk in the stores. Nothing interesting, maybe except All Eyes On you, a hiphop clothing store were they had 2 Knick caps but both of them were too large for me.
Anywayz, the reason why we came to bucharest was the concert. The Kid Koala concert, featuring Khidja Clouds Society in the opening. What can i say.. it was the best thing i've ever attended to. I met some important people whom i've always liked such as Brugner and Vexxatu Vexx, and they were nice enough to take pictures with us and to thank us for comming such a long way. Vexx and Khidja entertained the guests for about 45 - 60 minutes and then it came for the moment everybody expected, Kid Koala and his turntables. All i can say is that it was fantastic. Mixing from jazz to rock he made every single person in the room to jump and wave their hands.

Age of innocence part 2

I recently blogged in my first Age of innocence about some of the things that marked my childhood. Cartoons more exactly. In tonight's column i will post something about another thing that was crucial in my growing. Being part of a family that wasn't really in the upper deck of the society, i couldn't enjoy my life as i wanted to, and if i think about it, there were very few i knew who could say they had. Being a 12 year-old youngster, i spent a lot of time in a video-game saloon, but mostly watching then playing actually. I know there were two or three machines in my neighbourhood. One of them was the classic Chase HQ and the other one was Wrestlemania. That game was like a God for me. I always paid attention to the ones that were playing it and sometimes, i was saving my school money and spend them there.

There were all kind of legends and stories about the boys that managed to finish the game, and i can say it was quite gripping to listen. The Wrestlemania machine was in less than a year moved from that saloon and i didn't hear anything from it for ages. the time has passed and a couple of weeks ago, while being at the office i found some screenshots on a blog from that game.

I found out the name of the game 9i really didn't know it was called wrestlemania up untill now) and sent the name to a friend of mine who's a maniac on these classic games. In that very night, i received by email the game and the emulator to play the game on.
I think because of that video-game i started eto enjoy the wrestling so much, and i was a fanatic of WCW. My favorite wrestler was Lex Luger. Others i liked were Sting, "Macho Man" Randy Savage (famous for his Oooooh YEAAAAH!! with his rugged voice), The Giant, etc.
Back to the game now :) It can be played individual or tag-team. The second option was played mostly back then. Ehen i started the emulator i felt that nostalgia from ten years ago.. it was a feeling that cannot be written or described. My favorite wrestlers were Sergent Slaugheter, Earthquake and Ultimate Warrior. The purpose of the game is to win 4 matches in order to play with the title holders, Legion of Doom.

Hello again, it's been some time since my last note. I've been blogging about my 3 big hobbies, the Knicks (and KnicksOnline.com), the Hiphop music and the cartoons, the other days. Today i will tell you about a new passion of mine, the T-shirt making. I started this summer with a black shirt on which i printed with yellow letters a quote from Nas' Represent: "The brutalizer crew de-sizer, accelerator/ The type of fella who be pissin in your elevator". Pretty cool huh? My second shirt didn't came as good as i wanted to, it has the Knicks logo and some text beneath, but i am very prod of my last one, finished today.
Here it is.. i've always been a fan of Patrick Ewing and since in Romania ANY Knick products is so difficult to be found i said my only shot to wear something realted to the organization is to make it myself. You might be wondering about the cost of such a t-shirt. Well, the blank t-shirt is about $3-4 and the stiching process is about $2.30 for an A4 and double for the A3 format. (this one in the image is A3)
I already know what my next t-shirt with be like. I made a nice GangStarr logo in photoshop :)

Age of innocence

Ok, today i'm going blog about my other passion besides the New York Knicks and Hiphop music. What could it be but cartoons :)
I think all of us had an attraction for animation, but some of us developed it in time and others are addicted now. I'm a cartoon addicted =)
Ever since i child i watched the classics: Looney tunes, Droopy (this is part of lonney tunes too, right?), Tom & Jerry, the Flinstones, but no series captivated me the was The Simpsons did it.

That's the guy, Bart Simpson. I just got from my cousin 8 gigabytes of the series and started to watch, oh the memories :) The one thing i liked about them, was that they always kept the show fresh, no matter how many seasons it had. I know i've been looking at the show when i was in 4th grade, well, that's when i first made contact with them.
In college, although the cartoons have been aired in Romania some years ago, i started to be a South Park maniac, and believe it or not, my favorite episode was Quintuplets :) I enjoyed the show because of the black humor and of the lesson that ended each episode. I also liked the crappy animation. My favorite character was by far Kenny. Well he didn't had such an important role but he died in 90% of the episodes plus that he speaks very funny. the other character i liked was Cartman (now shoot me).
South Park was a very good show, but after every episode i felt that something was missing. It was like i couldn't enjoy the episode the way i wanted to..
That's when i discovered Family Guy, the show that i've been watching for the past few months. the animation is much better comparing to South Park or the Simpsons, the vulgarity is less than in South Park and the subtility of the jokes is AOK. I don't even know what character i like most: Brian, Stewie, Chris, Peter,.. the Evil Monkey..? the truth is that i like them all. The untold story of Stewie Griffin was a very good movie, well, the first half at least, the second one was pretty much garbage. I still have dozens of episodes waiting for me to download so a better oppinion about this show i will have in the next months..
However, i stood some time wondering which exactly cartoon i liked most, and to tell you the truth, the first love is unforgettable, so the prize goes to The Simpsons. Thanks for changing my life!

Busy day

Today was a quite busy day for me. The day started as a regular day at 8 o'clock at the office. When i got back home i had some friends comming over.. some of them to watch some Family Guy episodes, others to bring some clips on their hard drive and finally others to help me out with the burreau i bought a month ago and still lays in pieces. That should have been the #1 priority of the day but as in other times, we just got lazy and postponed the work for the next day. I barely had time to check the recent posts in the New York Knicks forums (lucky for me is still offseason and the traffic ain't that high) and instead of taking a shower i'm posting crap in the blog.
Btw, i just heard today the most junny joke in years:
The hysterical piggy (it's a character in Romanian jokes) was wandering in the forest. All of a sudden he meets the fairy who tells him that she can fulfil ONE wish, anything he wants. The piggy says: DIEE!!!!!
(well, i thought it was pretty funny ;))

Remember 9/11

I just realized today is September 11. Well, come to think about it it'sd already 12.32 so i'm an half of hour tard..
Anyway, even now when i think about that horrible day i can't believe such things had happened.. I was at a friend playing FIFA on PC when his mother came in and said that a plane has crashed in one of NY's twin towers. I was completly shocked when i turned the TV on and watched terriefied the images taken from CNN. When i arrived home, my dad said that the war is about to beggin. And he wasn't mistaken.
In the end, let's keep a moment of silence to all the ones who lost their family / friends in that day.
